Over 9 days, The Byron Bay International Film Festival (BBFF) celebrates the spirit of Byron Bay through the universal medium of film. Their programme includes films which reflect and resonate with the local community values - maintaining a strong emphasis on social and environmental issues, diversity, multiculturalism, creativity, indigenous culture, spirit, healing, conscious thinking or positive living, music, marine preservation, colourful characters, humour and, of course Byron's favourite past-time, surfing.

Spend a leisurely Sunday strolling around the Lennox Market set around Lake Ainsworth and only metres from Lennox's main surfing beach. Locals flock to the Lennox Market to stock up on local produce and buy that unique gift for that special someone or to just treat themselves. Taste the many different flavours of Thai, Indian and Italian food just to name a few.

Markets are held every Sunday at a different village. The Lismore region is rich in artist talent and the markets are abundant in local crafts, home-made goods and produce. Have an open-air haircut, tarot reading, a camel ride or simply enjoy the sights and sounds of a country market.

Tropical Fruits New Years Eve Dance Party and Recovery

The annual Tropical Fruits New Years Eve Dance Party includes DJ's, an art exhibition, cabaret and fireworks at midnight. On New Year’s Day a Pool Party is held at the Lismore Memorial Pool. A Recovery Party is held at The Showground on New Year’s Day and a free barbecue is provided. Tickets for these events are only available at the door. Tropical Fruits Inc is the Premier Gay and Lesbian Social Group of the Northern Rivers in New South Wales. It’s a not for profit, incorporated association that holds regular events for its diverse members and guests. For more information or to become a member please visit their website.
